OUR HISTORY

Mishkan was born in 2020 amid Uganda’s nationwide COVID-19 lockdown. With no physical building, no traditional gatherings, and inconsistent technology, we were forced to reimagine church from the ground up.

Out of that crucible emerged our core distinctiveness: the Family Discipleship Model. Every home became a sanctuary, every family a self-sufficient unit of faith, worship, and ministry. This approach was never a temporary workaround — it was a deliberate design for resilience, agility, and adaptability in uncertain times.

Today, Mishkan operates as a modern, hybrid faith community that seamlessly integrates home, assembly, and online expressions. At the center of everything remains the family unit — equipped, empowered, and discipled to live out the Gospel daily.

Whether in lockdown or in open seasons, our spiritual life and community care continue uninterrupted because the Church is not a building or an event. In Mishkan, the Church is families on mission together, representing Christ wherever they are.
